Since the publication of the Calendar of the Fine Rolls of the Reign of Henry III Preserved in The National Archives. Volume I: 1–8 Henry III 1216–1224, eds Paul Dryburgh & Beth Hartland, technical editors Arianna Ciula & José Miguel Vieira (Woodbridge, 2007) and Calendar of the Fine Rolls of the Reign of Henry III Preserved in The National Archives. Volume II: 9–18 Henry III 1224–1234, eds Paul Dryburgh & Beth Hartland, technical editors Arianna Ciula & José Miguel Vieira (Woodbridge, 2008) a number of errors and omissions in the translation and indexes of both volumes has been identified. - p. 636 (under ‘Pointon (Panton’, Pointon’, Pointun’, Poyniton’), Alexander of’ and ‘Pointon (Panton’, Pointon’, Pointun’, Poyniton’), Baldwin of’) – Alexander did indeed emanate from Pointon in Sempringham parish (Lincolnshire), but Baldwin originated from Little Ponton in the same county. Therefore, only the variant ‘Panton’’ should be associated with Baldwin and it should be removed from Pointon altogether. These entries should now read ‘Pointon (Pointon’, Pointun’, Poyniton’) [in Sempringham, Lincolnshire], Alexander of’ and ‘Pointon (Panton’) [Ponton, Little, Lincolnshire], Baldwin of’. 9

- p. 656 (under ‘Witsand’, Robert de’) – the place can be identified as Wissant in the Pas de Calais département, while ‘Robert’ should read ‘Richard’ as in the calendar text, and this entry should read ‘Wissant (Witsand’) [in Pas de Calais, France], Richard de’.

- p.607 (under ‘Bertram, Roger’) - the identification of this Roger Bertram [of Mitford] as the son and heir of Richard Bertram is incorrect, and should belong to another individual, Roger Bertram [of Bothal] who has been added to the electronic index. 10
- p.609 (under ‘Bolbec, Hugh de’) - the references to Hugh under 25/819 as 'keeper of the castle of Newcastle upon Tyne', 'keeper of the castle of Bamburgh' and 'sheriff of Northumberland' actually belong under to his son, also Hugh de Bolbec.
- p. 621 (under 'Cobham, John of') - the place has since been identified as Cobham in Kent.
