Order to Thomas of Stamford and his co-escheator in the county of Lancaster that, having accepted security from Nigel for one mark to the king’s use for his relief, they are to cause him to have full seisin of the aforesaid land.

By the fine of 50 m. which Alice, who was the wife of Thomas Brien, made with him, the king has granted her the custody of the land and heirs of the aforesaid Thomas, together with the marriage of the aforesaid heirs, to have and hold until the lawful age of the aforesaid heirs. He has also granted to Alice that she may render 10 m. of the aforesaid 50 m. per annum, namely 5 m. at the Exchequer of Easter in the thirty-third year, 5 m. at the Exchequer of Michaelmas next following, and 10 m. thus from year to year at the same terms until the aforesaid 50 m. are paid to the king. The king has granted to Ela countess of Warwick, his kinswoman, his manor of Dymock with all its appurtenances, to have for as long as she will be a widow, rendering 60s. for it each year at the Exchequer for as long as she will hold the aforesaid manor, namely one moiety at the Exchequer of Michaelmas and the other moiety at the Exchequer of Easter. If by chance she permits herself to be married or don the habit of a religious woman, or happens to die, the said manor will revert in full with appurtenances to the king or his heirs.
